they're made of sugar and spice and everything nice.

If you know my husband or me you know we don't fight softly. We don't even discuss softly.
We are both stubborn and when we love, we love hard.
And when we dislike, we dislike harder.
That said, playing the name game hasn't been easy this time around.
And I think girls names are harder.
But with the twins, I thought boys names were harder.
Unfortunately, we had a boys name
but,
we're having a girl.
after
a lot
of discussion we have narrowed it down to seven.
Actually six.
But,
my dad hates all of our names so I have granted him a write in.
One of the names is his choice.

Choose wisely.......and bonus points if you come back and leave a comment telling me your vote.
Actually, I beg you to come back and leave a comment with your vote.
I am printing this blog out in January and I would love to have everyone's votes forever.
Or your own write in.

The poll is on the main page
top right
but,
come back here to leave your comment.

Polls close May 1st, 2011

For some reason I'm really nervous......

  1. I voted for Reese, it has and always be one of my favorites.. secretly I wanted to vote for Macy, my second favorite so that Reese will still be available when I have a girl.. but I figured, you are on #3 so you trump me and can have the name :) I love them all though! XOXO Erin

  4. WELL YOU KNOW JIM WANTS IT TO BE REECE! I VOTED LOLA, BUT LOVE BROOKLYN TOO. ALL COOL NAMES THOUGH! GOOD LUCK WITH THIS!

  5. I got the idea for Reese 10 years ago when Jim started calling me Reese. : )

  6. I voted for Macy because I have thought all along that this baby's first name should be with an "M" to match it's Mommy and Daddy since it wasn't a twin.

  11. We're a house divided:
    Blue: Brooklyn
Kaden: Stella (but he'd rather write in Amelia)
    Kevin: Molly
    Faydra: Finn or Molly
    Toby - no vote

    Totally helpful, I know.

But a warning: if you pick Brooklyn my boys will shout/sing "NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN" probably like every time they see her. Blue had a Brook Lynn in his class and Kevin taught them this because of her. Blue loved her and she has since moved away so I knew that would be his pick.

  13. I have two favorites, I love Stella and Reese. We were going to do Stella Marie which I love for a girl...but we don't make girls over here, only boys (and we are done!) But I also am loving Reese, I think it is adorable and works well with the twins names, ya know. (Did you watch Pregnant in Heels, is like Rosie Pope's focus group on baby naming...)

  18. I voted for Reese! I think it is sweet, simple and classic. But I also like Finn, too (for obvious reasons!!) :)

  19. Ohhhh, I love all the names! I voted for Stella. I think it sounds great with your last name. Both Lola and Stella were on our list before I found out I was having a boy. Different & unique. I really like Macy too, that's also very uncommon! Oh and Nik votes for Lola, so add a vote for him! Xo Linds

  20. I voted for Macy but I will say that I was 50%/49% with Stella. After a historical account about the names (if you only knew my husband), my husband voted for Stella. He loves Stella Stratton!

  22. Po would vote Brooklyn. That's what he wanted my name to be but Brooke Lynn and instead it's Stephanie Lynn, lets be honest, Brooke Lynn Greenbaum just doesnt flow....My vote was on one of your previous lists, Emerson. That is my fav! Stella is not my fav not Stella Stratton does have a unique ring to it....I dont know, i'm so undecided?? Thank goodness the polls dont close till May 1st!

  23. I voted for Reese. But, Stella is right behind! If we have another little girl, her name will be Stella :)

  24. I voted Stella because I think it's adorable for a baby girl but something she can also grow into. Close second and third are Reese and Lola. I love Finn for the middle name too! Stella Finn Stratton (SFS) That has a ring! :) Great idea on getting people to vote. I saw that on that new baby show Pregnant In Heels on Bravo. ~Rachele~

  25. I vote for Brooklyn. It's a bold name, and since she's the youngest of two twins, I feel like that gives her a little edge. xo

  26. I mean the youngest sibling w/ two older siblings.

  27. Well, you know I love the name Stella, but I voted for Reese :) Since it is an off-shoot of your name, it gives her that extra special flair she deserves. xoxo, C

  29. Great names! I vote Reese, with Macy as a close second.

  32. I vote for Stella. Stella Stratton sounds like a movie star! "Stella" means star in Italian and that name would bring some of her Italian roots with her. Also, all of her loved ones from the stars and heaven above (Great Grandpa Pantaleo) could watch her grow:)

  33. I think I'm going to play physic and guess Grandpa Tom is going with my guess Molly. We will see on May 1st if we are right.

    Love Ya Aunt Donna

  34. I voted for Stella. I just love Stella Stratton. But I do think any of the options you have narrowed it down to would be great. They are all beautiful names. But Stella is my fave!

  35. By the way I did not read my mom's comment before I voted :-)

  36. Count me as parent #2 to cast my vote. I like all the name but I had to wait and not make a rash decision. I had to let the names either grow or not grow on me. I can really see this beautiful little girl in kindergarten and the teacher and classmates calling her "Stella". It is just way different and beautiful. I think the name has kind of missed a generation or 2. I asked my Mom if she knew anyone named Stella and she knew several. But, she is my grandbaby and I don't care what you name her except "my grandbaby". But, "my grandbaby Stella" is good too. Love you all. Gran
